A snapshot of guest ratings and stories behind the stay.
“The gap between my first and second visit to this restaurant has been far too long. My first visit was for lunch but on this occassion it was dinner. Despite being over an hours drive its well worth the trip. The reception was welcoming and the neat smart restaurant offers tables that are well spaced, allowing room for plenty of privacy. The staff are neat, well trained and attentive, without being intrusive. No too familiar searching for compliments here. Its the food however that is the real star, great fresh ingredients, featuring the wonderful beef from the Aubrac as well as excellent home prepared specialities. The attention to detail of the dressing of the plates stands out, this chef knows that as well as cooking well, the presentation of each dish is paramount. We had three courses, including lamb sweetbreads, foie gras and seared tuna to start, a full house of beef with excellently cooked vegetables, and three individual desserts. A great bottle of Cote de Rousillon, completed the evening. The service was crisp, unrushed and the description of each dish by the young waitress was excellent. Far too many, rush this and for many its an interesting part of the experience. This restaurant certainly deserves its one star and hopely we will be back again soon.”
“Very good food, and I like the nice presentation. Great outdoor terrace. Indoor is still OK, however the time is getting close to design an update of the space.”
“Restaurant Le Sénéchal offers an exceptional dining experience! Creative dishes, perfect flavors, and warm hospitality make it unforgettable. A true gem for food lovers — refined yet welcoming.”
“Friendly staff, quickly served , very good and affordable lunch with a great outdoor terrace.”
“Top table in the Aveyron area. Lovely location, shady terrace and discreet but attentive service. Phenomenal wine list to suit every purse.”
“Excellent restaurant. One Michelin Star does it no justice. But as it stands, an absolute joy to eat on the terrace in the summer, and the food is definitely worth a detour for.”
“Every good thing must come to an end... 3rd New Year's Eve dinner in a few years, and I'm still delighted by the selection of products, the way they are prepared and presented on the plate, and the friendly and professional service. The chef and his team never try to impress you, just to please you and make sure you have a great time. The wine list is as interesting as ever. Unfortunately, we won't be able to repeat the experience, as Michel Truchon has just announced his retirement and the sale of his hotel and restaurant to new owners on January 1, 2024. Thank you Mr Truchon for all these years of pleasure and delight, and best wishes for your new life!”
“The food here is some of the best we've experienced, the choices of wine for each course were perfect. Good service and a comfortable and well presented dining room. Highly recommended.”
